History of Item
This is a souvenir plate that commemorates the Uiver flight. It was created be the Koninklijk Goedewaagen of Gouda, in the Netherlands. This plate was number 61 of what is estimated to be 300. It was made as a limited-edition souvenir plate that was made somewhere between October and November of 1934.
A photograph in the collection (ARM 13.002) shows key Albury players in the Uiver story gathered together alongside gifts given to them in honour of the assistance they provided. A plate that appears to be from the same Koninklijk Goedewaagen edition can be seen in the centre row on the right hand side. This plate is a representative example of that plate in the photograph.
