History of Item

The Kousbroek family from the Netherlands arrived in Australia aboard the Nelly in August 1952. Gerald at 14 worked as a farm hand near Bonegilla before moving to Frankston with his family. This item was displayed as part of the Albury and Australia’s Dutch Connections exhibition held at the Albury LibraryMuseum from 28 September 2019 – 15 December 2019. Displayed at Bonegilla Migrant Experience from 15 March 2023 to 10 October 2023 as part of Australia's Dutch Connections outbound tour.
