History of Item

Originally from Russia, Tamara Ussenko migrated to Australia with her mother Barbara and stepfather Wasily as displaced Latvians. They travelled aboard the Nelly arriving Melbourne on 26 September 1950. After 13 months at Bonegilla Tamara moved to Ballarat and married Stan Bekier, another displaced person from Poland.
