Description

Canvas bag for a Theodolite. Used for carrying Theodolite when it is assembled. Or could be bag for surveyors chain. Drawstring rope top. Rectangle shaped with rounded bottom. Very dirty and stained. Was contained inside Theodolite case between the wood lid and leather outer carry case. Theodolite is catalogued separately as ARM 22.169. Theodolites allow a surveyor to fix a position on the surface of the earth, marking latitude, longitude, and height above sea level, and then map out roads, towns, and plots of land.
